On May 18, the opening ceremony of the 2025 China Fuzhou International Investment Promotion Month kicks off at the Fuzhou Strait International Conference and Exhibition Center. The event also features Together for Prosperity in Fuzhou: Global Investment Promotion Conference. Jointly hosted by the CPC Fuzhou Municipal Committee, the Fuzhou Municipal People’s Government, and the Fujian Provincial Investment Promotion Bureau, the event centers around the theme “Together for Prosperity in Fuzhou”. It focuses on fully leveraging the strengths of overseas Chinese businesses, Taiwanese enterprises, and foreign-invested companies, serving as a bridge between Fuzhou and global business community to foster collaboration, envision future growth, and write a new chapter of shared prosperity.

The conference brings together more than 1,200 representatives from domestic and international business associations, entrepreneurs, industry experts and scholars. Delegates from Fortune Global 500 companies and leading multinationals—including Reliance Industries Limited (India), Itochu Corporation, and Walmart—gather for the event. Keynote speeches are delivered by Luckchai Kittipol, a prominent overseas Chinese leader in Thailand, and Tanahashi Tetsuro, Chairman of Fujian Marujun New Technology Co., Ltd. Speaking on behalf of overseas Chinese and foreign-invested enterprises in China, they share their investment journeys in Fuzhou, highlight the city’s growth potential, and showcase its investor-friendly business environment.

Adhering to an investment philosophy of comprehensive, end-to-end engagement across the full chain and lifecycle, with broad participation, the conference unveils 38 flagship investment projects on site. These projects, carefully selected in recent years for their strong economic and social impact, make significant contributions to Fuzhou’s industrial development. Featured projects include:
– The Fuyao Glass Smart Automotive Safety Glass Manufacturing Project,
– Phase I of the Luoyuan Shidai New Energy Base,
– The Fujian Benz New Energy Commercial Vehicle Project.

These initiatives span key sectors such as new energy, new materials, logistics and distribution, offshore wind power, and green metallurgy.

The conference signs a total of 82 projects, totaling over RMB 130 billion in investment. Of these, 40 key projects are signed on-site, following proactive engagement and targeted matchmaking efforts by Fuzhou authorities with prospective investors ahead of the event. Major agreements include:

– The Indonesia High-End Aquatic Product Import and Export Project,
– The China-Thailand Hot Spring Medical and Wellness Project (including a wholly foreign-owned hospital),
– The Liando U Valley Industrial Park Project,
– The Changle Offshore Zone I (North) Offshore Wind Farm Project,
– Phase II of the Southeast Motor New Energy Support Project.

These projects span sectors such as marine economy, healthcare and wellness, the Internet of Things, and new energy. They help drive the development of new productive forces, support the development of a modern industrial system, strengthening Fuzhou’s overall competitiveness.

During the conference, the Fujian Provincial Department of Commerce and the Fuzhou Municipal Government present a comprehensive overview of the region’s economic development. The event also marks the debut of the Fuzhou Four-Chain Integration Public Service Platform, which is now open for user access. Designed to drive deep integration of the industrial, innovation, talent, and capital chains, the platform integrates over 700,000 data points from national and municipal sources—including policies, funding, talent databases, and other essential resources. Leveraging advanced digital and intelligent technologies, it powers a governance platform for industrial policy, enabling government departments to gain precise insights into industry trends, identify strengths and weaknesses, and deliver targeted policies and resource support. As an external-facing service hub, the platform features four core sections:
– Industry Insights,
– Talent Search,
– Financing Opportunities,
– Technology Discovery.

These sections help businesses, research institutions, and investment entities access relevant information across the four chains, identify matching policies and resources, and efficiently publish or respond to development needs—all through a unified, one-stop service. Moving forward, all newly developed enterprise services and approval-related systems in Fuzhou are set to be integrated into this platform, forming a centralized enterprise services hub—a business-facing version of the “e-Fuzhou” smart city platform.

The conference features a dedicated promotion session for the China-Indonesia “Two Countries, Twin Parks” initiative. The city of Fuqing provided an in-depth briefing on the initiative’s development progress, supportive policies, and key investment priorities. Representatives from Indonesia’s Kawasan Industri Terpadu Batang introduce the latest developments via video link, while business representatives from both countries take the stage to showcase the favorable investment environment of the twin industrial parks.

Running from May 18 to June 18, the 2025 China Fuzhou International Investment Promotion Month follows a “1+2+13” framework:

– 1 Global Investment Promotion Conference,
– 2 thematic sessions focusing on overseas Chinese and foreign investors,
– 13 specialized industry-focused investment events.

With a month-long schedule and a wide array of activities, the initiative is expected to attract over 10,000 participants, reinforcing Fuzhou’s international reputation as a dynamic hub for global business and unlocking new opportunities for high-quality, sustainable development.

The conference reaffirms Fuzhou’s commitment to global engagement, extending a sincere invitation to partners around the world. Looking ahead, the city will continue to embrace openness and inclusiveness, strive to optimize the business environment, unleash investment potential, and forge strong partnerships with global enterprises. As Fuzhou rides the tides of a new era, it strives to share development opportunities and co-create a prosperous, sustainable future with the world.
