On December 17, 2020, the 2021 "Chengdu Talent Cup" High-level Talents Innovation and Start-up Competition (Europe) was held synchronously in France, the U.K., Germany, the Netherlands and the city of Chengdu, and ten high-quality start-up projects in the fields of electronic information, smart manufacturing, modern finance and advanced materials participated in the contest for three spots in the final session.

       Sponsored by the Chengdu Municipal Talents Work Leadership Group Office and organized by Chengdu Industry Investment Co., Ltd., the event received widespread attention and support from the Consulate-general of France in Chengdu, and various institutions of higher education and incubators across Europe.

       At the event, the ten participating projects performed spectacular roadshows, followed by professional comments from the judges' panel, and ultimately three teams were awarded the "pass" and qualified for the final of the 2021 "Chengdu Talent Cup" High-level Talents Innovation and Start-up Competition. The three winners are Scopio from the U.K., novel intelligent manufacturing composite material from Germany and AlitaPower battery cascade utilization and energy storage platform from France. A total of seven competing projects won interests from investment firms, and total intended investment reached RMB72 million, bringing the cumulative total of intended investment to RMB133 million.        Standing at the apogee of the world to envision the future of our times, through the International Competitions of the "Chengdu Talent Cup", Chengdu ventures abroad and invites talents from across the globe so as to inject new vitality into the emerging industries of the city by recruiting “high caliber, elite, top notch and urgently needed” talents.
