From November 1 to 10, the 2024 Guangzhou International Food Festival opens at Guangzhou Wanbo CBD in Panyu District. The main venue boasts over 100 food stalls, where visitors can sample renowned Cantonese cuisine and international delicacies from countries such as Japan, South Korea, Thailand, and the Americas. In addition, lively cultural performances, fun parades, and a series of consumption vouchers await visitors to explore for free at the site.

This year, the festival is themed "Foodie Guangzhou, Flavors of the World," emphasizing the integration of "food + culture + fashion." By bringing together the best of global culinary delights, it showcases the charm of Cantonese culture.

The 2024 Guangzhou International Food Festival is the first major food-themed event held by Guangzhou in response to the Ministry of Commerce's call for elite consumption months in five international consumption hub cities: Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Tianjin, and Chongqing.

To date, the Guangzhou International Food Festival has been held 27 times under the name of the government. The main venue is divided into 12 exhibition areas, including International Cuisine, The Glory of Cantonese Cuisine, and Special Souvenirs.

The lineup of catering brands is impressive, featuring renowned Cantonese restaurants such as Guangzhou Restaurant, Royal Cusine, and Panyu Hotel, as well as international cuisine from restaurants like LES POISSONS, Latin Grillhouse, and Finnish food.

Furthermore, visitors can taste Jiangmen's Qiangsheng Pork Trotter Noodles from the TV series "The Knockout," as well as delicacies from across the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, such as Dongguan Roast Goose and Hong Kong's Tsui Wah Restaurant, along with renowned brands from other regions, such as Quanjude Roast Duck and Qingfeng Baozi, which have also made a flash appearance in Guangzhou, providing visitors with an even richer culinary experience.

This year's food festival introduces innovative "Voucher Rain" promotions, where consumers can easily scan a QR code with their WeChat to receive multi-tier consumption vouchers, including 45 off 300, 35 off 200, 10 off 100, 8 off 74, and 5 off 39, as well as brand-specific vouchers for in-store consumption.

Apart from on-site discounts, there is also an online activity zone at the food festival. By purchasing exclusive set meals from top brands and food merchants, consumers can enjoy a 7 percent discount (capped at 30 RMB) for immediate payment reductions. Residents can also redeem vouchers online and use them at offline merchant stores at the food festival to enjoy an immediate 80 RMB discount for purchases over 500 RMB.

From November 1 to 10, consumers can log in to the Yunshanfu APP and purchase food festival discount vouchers at a 6.2 percent discount for just 0.1 RMB, with a maximum discount of 20 RMB. Additionally, DIDI, a ride-hailing platform, has launched special travel vouchers for the food festival, allowing consumers taking taxis to and from the main venue to enjoy a 100-RMB travel consumption voucher package and other benefits.
