The 2024 Understanding China Conference is taking place in Guangzhou, Guangdong Province, from December 2 to 4. This year, the conference is hosting over 600 guests from both China and abroad, setting a new historical record and underscoring the growing global attention on China's growing role.

How should we understand China, a major global power, especially in the face of unprecedented challenges worldwide? With this being the fourth time the conference has been held in Guangzhou, a key city within the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, does this region hold particular significance in understanding China's development?
